Nestled among the foothills of the Middle Mountains, Wolfenburg is the capital city of Ostland in the Empire. It is a beautiful city and the crossroads of trade moving overland between Kislev and the Empire. Its great walls give protection from the things lurking in the Forest of Shadows, and the von Raukovs had brought order and stability to the land after the inept rule of the von Tassenincks.[1b]

Locations[]

  • Empire Barracks.[2a]
  • Temple of Sigmar.[1b]
  • The Fiddlers Inn - A favorite haunt of lesser nobility and those with some disposable income, it is a renowned spot to catch the latest musical talent on the way to stardom in the city.[2a]

Trivia[]

The Wolfenburg Jaegers had a flautist who played an instrument made from the arm bone of a Catrazzian Birdman.[3a]

Storm of Chaos[]

Attention, Empire Citizens!

"Can't you see? We have died and this is hell."

—A Wolfenburg Widow.[1a]

During the Storm of Chaos it was attacked by a great horde of Mutants and vicious Beastmen who tore down the city wall, smashed its breathtaking architecture and left the once-teeming city a smoking ruin.[2a] The city was first sacked in 2521 IC by an army of Surtha Lenk and again in 2522 IC while being defended by Star of Victory.[1b]

Out of a population of 9,000 only 1,100 remain. They live in camps outside the city, too frightened of what may be lurking in the ruins to enter it longer than it takes to scavenge among the rubble.[1b]
