Witchbrew

Witchbrew in use by the Witch Elves of Naggaroth before they make use of the Cauldrons of Blood on Death Night.

Witchbrew is an evil concoction consumed by Witch Elves, the priestesses of the Cult of Khaine, the Elven god of murder and war, that drives imbibers into an ecstasy of destruction. [1a][3]

Role[]

The Witch Elves prepare special potions to take before they go to battle. The Death Hags, the high priestesses of the Witch Elves, mix these toxic potions into their Cauldrons of Blood, and only they knew how to prepare the potions to prevent them from killing the Witch Elves themselves. The brews are distilled from the blood of Hag Queens, and laced with a mix poisonous barbs and herbs.[1a][2a][3]

On the eve of war, each Witch Elf sips witchbrew from a ceremonial goblet handed to them by a Death Hag, which drives them into a divine frenzy of insatiable bloodlust. Whilst in this god-touched state, they are infused with the power of Khaine himself and will immediately seek out the foe to sacrifice to their god.[1a][3]

Such is the potency of the potions that the Witch Elves care little for their own safety, giving no thought to their defence such that they will fight against impossible odds and relish battle against enemies many times their own number. They seek only to hack foes apart in a blood-drenched orgy of slaughter, the lust to shed blood alone driving the crazed Dark Elves. There is little grace to such an assault, merely a whirling storm of venom-coated blades that slash at the foe with maddened fury.[1a][3]
