Wieran, also spelled Weiran, was an obscure khan of the Ungols or the last king of the Roppsmenn tribe of northeastern Kislev in the year 1527 IC.[1a]
History[]
He is known, at least in one source, as being the khan of the Ungols who led the defence of the Ungol capital of Norvard (now Erengrad) against the invading Gospodars, with the aid of a legendary Sea Hag.[1a] After a bitter and long war, the Ungols were defeated, and driven into the Sea of Chaos where the last rebellious elements of their people were slaughtered.[1a]
Other sources states that he was a king of the Roppsmenn tribe who fought against their neighbours, the Ungols, after the fall of Norvad to the Gospodars. In the latter account, under the Ungol warlord Hethis Chaq, the displaced Ungols defeated the Roppsmenn in a brutal battle on a cliff overlooking the Sea of Claws. The death of King Wieran spelt the total decimation of the Roppsmenn as a united people.[2a]
Canon Conflict[]
As stated previously, two sources state differing accounts of Wieran. The Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay sourcebook Realm of the Ice Queen names him as a khan of the Ungols whilst the White Dwarf armybook supplement for Kislev claims that he was the last king of the Roppsmenn tribe.
