The Cathayan city of Weng Chang, as seen in Total War: Warhammer III
Weng Chang is a major city located in the Northern Provinces of Grand Cathay in the Lands of Stone and Steel. Due to its location in the north of the Celestial Empire, Miao Ying is the current ruler of the city. However, the lords of the north maintain significantly more autonomy under the rule of the Storm Dragon than the nobility in the rest of Cathay.[1]
Weng Chang is one of the most magically-potent cities in all of Cathay, primarily due to the establishment of the Temple of the Jade-Blood Sorcerers in the city. Here, the greatest wielders of the Elemental Wind of Water in Grand Cathay gather to discuss and practice their arcane lore.[1]
The city is heavily fortified, due to its proximity to the Great Bastion. In addition, the city controls a nearby iron mine, utilised for the production of weapons and armour for Cathay's forces.[1]
