The Wall of Remembrance is a park and shrine in Altdorf's Turmgarten. It consists of a length of crumbling wall, a remnant from the ancient High Elven settlement of Kor Vanaeth surrounded by a stand of elm trees.[1a]
Kor Vanaeth was destroyed in the War of the Beard, and Elves in Altdorf visit the wall to remember the horrors of that war and leave offerings to the Elven gods Isha and Asuryan. Occasionally, Dwarfs will come to honour their ancestors. Many Elves also visit the park simply to escape the noise of the city. It is a special haunt for members of the Reikwald Elves living in Altdorf.[1a]
The nearby Arcane Towers mean that the Wall of Remembrance is a magic-charged place. The Winds of Shyish and Ghyran blow particularly strong here. On nights when the moon of Mannslieb is full, the boundary between the mortal world and the otherworld -- what Elves call the Weave -- becomes thin. Some have seen an Elven Ghost wandering the area on those nights. The nature spirits called Spites also live at the Wall of Remembrance.[1a]
