The Atalan Mountains of Araby,[1a] and the Mountains of Mourn in the Ogre Kingdoms, are inhabited by gigantic vultures, large predatory birds that live in the high peaks.[2a]
These enormous birds are capable of lifting and carrying off a horse with its rider. They can be found in the mountains surrounding the city of Martek.[1a]

- Blood Vultures - The Blood Vulture is a large, predatory bird that lives high in the Mountains of Mourn. Although primarily scavengers, blood vultures have no qualms about attacking living creatures, swooping and slashing at their victims with their sharp claws and powerful beaks. Ogre Hunters capture and tame blood vultures, and use them to hunt down prey or attack their foes in battle.[2a]
