Viydagg

The Viydagg, also known as the "Primeval Maiden" and mistakenly sometimes identified as a "Life Elemental."

The Viydagg, also called the "Primeval Maiden," and sometimes mistakenly named a "Life Elemental," is a Greater Daemon of Law, and is concerned with the laws of life and nature. The Viydagg is rumoured to have been created by a God of Law to counteract the murderous depredations of the Greater Daemon of Khorne known as the Mardagg.[1a][3a]

The Viydagg appears to be a young and beautiful woman, over 10 feet tall, dressed in flowing robes and with long hair blowing in an unseen wind. The robes and hair are frequently decked with flowers. The Elves identify the Viydagg as a type of nature spirit and it sometimes appears at the Rainbow Falls within the Laurelorn Forest.[1a][3a]

The Viydagg causes fear in many living creatures, and pure terror to those who are affiliated with evil or Chaos. If the Mardagg is killed by the Viydagg, it is killed forever.[1a]

History[]

According to the Cult of Solkan, when the Chaos Daemon Mardagg, a servant of the Blood God Khorne, sought to destroy the Tilean city-state of Remas millennia ago after the departure of the Elves from the Old World, it was only stopped when Solkan, one of the Gods of Law, sent a Viydagg to battle him.[2a]

They fought, so the cult says, for a year and a day before the good spirit conquered the Daemon and imprisoned his soul in a bottle. However, some Elves think that such spirits are actually associated with another God of Law, Arianka.[2a]

In Remas the Inquisitors of Law and Light still celebrate this story by staging puppet shows dramatising its events in the various neighborhoods of the city.[2a]
