"For the Lion of Verezzo and the honour of Tilea!"

—Captain Alvaro Cazarro at the siege of Marienburg during the End Times.[1]

The Verezzo Twenty-Four Ninety-Five is a Tilean mercenary company from the city-state of Verezzo, located in the south of that sunny peninsula.[1]

Their captain is Alvaro Cazarro, a determined man hardened by numerous battles with a strong sense of duty and deep ties to his city and his native land. In battle he carries a sword and a cinquedea, a short stabbing sword.[1]

His company of pikemen is equipped with plumed helms, breastplates with brass moulding and shields and carries into battle the banner of Verezzo.[1]

History[]

In the siege of Marienburg during the End Times, Cazarro's troops were at the port in the city. After being engaged in a mock defence of the South Road Fishmarket Score crossroads against the forces of an invading Norscan fleet devoted to Nurgle, he reorganised his scattered troops to undertake a desperate real defence of the city.[1]

Cazarro and two of his Verezzans were among the last survivors of the city and when a fatal blow struck him down during the umpteenth fight against the barbaric Norscans, not even the peace of Morr's Realm could accept his soul. Even in death, Cazarro kept fighting the invaders, trapped in the mortal world by the Dark Magic that haunted the ruins of Marienburg cast by the Vampire Mundvard the Cruel, the so-called "Lord of Shadows" who had long commanded Marienburg's criminal underworld.[1]
