Urbimo, also known as Urbino, is a large port town in north-eastern Tilea that has been ruled in the past by the Republic of Remas, but is currently (as of 2517 IC) under the control of the Principality of Trantio, and represents its primary outlet on the Tilean Sea.[1a][3a]
History[]
During the Anarchy in the Empire, Urbimo, then called Urbino, was controlled by the Republic of Remas. By 2517 IC, however, the town is now part of the Principality of Trantio.[1a][3a]
Canon Conflict[]
Urbimo was initially portrayed as a town under the control of the Republic of Remas in the original sketch of its non-canonical lore made by its creator MadAlfred, yet Evil Twin Artworks, the company who developed the PC game Man O' War: Corsair, changed it to a port city controlled by the Principality of Trantio instead.[1a][2a]
Games Workshop later changed the spelling of Urbimo to Urbino and shifted its allegiance back to the Republic of Remas in Warhammer: The Old World, at least for the time period of ca. 2276 IC.
Game History[]
Urbimo's name, like that of some other locations created by Alfred Nuñez Jr., was misspelled by Games Workshop. The incorrect names given to these locations were taken from an unofficial Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay manual, Spears of the Maiden, which referenced Alfred's works.[5][3a]
Trivia[]
The name of the town is a pun about Urbino, a real world Italian city.
