Dwarf Train Concept Art Warhammer Online

A Dwarf train

A train is a form of steam-powered rail transport consisting of a series of connected carriages placed behind a locomotive outfitted with a steam engine burning wood or coal that generally run along a railroad or railway track to transport passengers or cargo. In the Known World, trains were first invented by the Dwarfs during their Silver Age.[1a]

Notable Trains[]

Dwarf train station

  • Grimgrandel - The Grimgrandel, based in Grimbeard Station near the Black Fire Pass, is a heavily-armoured Dwarf train.[2a]
  • Warprail - The Skaven's Clan Skyre has been attempting to build a warpstone-fuelled locomotive to pull a train that carries passengers and cargo through the subterranean passages of the Under-Empire. However, their ambitions are limited by the amount of wood and iron needed to construct the rails, the sabotage of the other Great Clans and the instability of the train's engine. When it works, however, the Warprail is the fastest and most efficient mode of transportation in the Under-Empire.[4a][5a]

Possible Trains[]

  • Vedenza's Artillery Train - An artillery train made of brass and carrying cannons and bolt throwers operated in the Tilean city-state of Vedenza.[3a] However, it is unknown whether this is a true steam-powered train that actually travels on rails or simply a long array of artillery.
