High Elf Domains World Map 6th Edition illustration

A map of the High Elven domains of the Known World drawn by Jacob Stacheldhorf; note that it incorrectly swaps the positions of Grand Cathay and the Hinterlands of Khuresh.[1a]

Tor Elasor is a High Elf colony located on an island in the southern regions of the world of Mallus situated between the Southlands, the Kingdoms of Ind and the Southern Wastes of Chaos.[1a][2a]

History[]

Origin[]

The Slann mage-priests of the Lizardmen were content for the Elves to take over the care of many of the Old Ones' sacred sites, and in time the Elves forgot that they had not always owned them.[4a]

Some of these were renamed and built over by the Elves, and include the Citadel of Dusk, the Tower of the Rising Sun and the original site of Tor Elasor. They were defences originally constructed by the Slann to hold the Daemons of the Southern Chaos Wastes at bay, and to this day the High Elves continue to perform the tasks that enable these sacred places to operate as intended. The High Elves know of the existence of the Slann, but are content to keep away from their jungles.[4a]

Count Alphonse Epidimus' Raid[]

An odd sort of army made of brine-soaked Undead sea turtles once raided the harbour guard of Tor Elasor. The attack was led by Count Alphonse Epidimus Octavius Scaramanga Nyktolos of Vargravia, Portmaster of Ghulport.[5a]

Fall of Tor Elasor[]

In 2408 IC (VII, 108 by the Dark Elf calendar) at the Naggarothi Witch King Malekith's command, the infamous Dark Elf marauder Lokhir Fellheart led a great fleet of vessels against the far-flung High Elf colony of Tor Elasor.[3a]

At dawn, the Black Arks Tower of Blessed Dread and Immortal Agony breached the shoreward walls with a barrage of sorcerous shot, allowing Black Ark Corsairs to ransack the city beyond. Though the High Elves within fought valiantly, they could not match their attackers' ferocity. By the time dusk fell, Tor Elasor was a blood-wreathed ruin. Fellheart nailed its still-breathing warden, Prince Datherion, to the uppermost wall of the central keep.[3a]

So swift had the attack been that no word escaped to reach Ulthuan. When Sea Lord Aislinn led a fleet to discover the cause of Tor Elasor's silence, he found the colony a charnel place of rotting flesh and rampant decay.[3a]
