The Lorlay is a jagged, rocky island situated in the River Reik, about 40 miles downstream from Grissenwald.[1a]
The Reik is relatively narrow around the island, flowing swiftly through deep channels. According to legends popular among boatmen, a beautiful, slender, pale elven maiden swims through these straits at dawn and dusk. The Lorlay is a popular spot for upper-class Reiklanders to hold Taalite stag parties, pre-marriage rituals. Because of this, many inns can be found in the vicinity of the Lorlay catering to higher class clientele.[1a]
