The Sword of Unholy Power brims with magical power which may be called upon by a disciple of the black arts. Whenever this blade tastes blood, its wielder seems to exert greater control over the Winds of Magic.[2a][3a]
Known wielders of this sword have been Vlad von Carstein and, following his temporary demise, Mannfred von Carstein.[1a][3a]
Origin[]
There are two different stories of the origin of the Sword of Unholy Power. It is not known if there are multiple blades referred to as the Sword of Unholy Power, since both origins detailed below specify that the weapon was first wielded by Mannfred, not Vlad.
Timor Noctis[]
Timor Noctis, the name meaning Dark Night's Terror, appears to be of Dwarfen craftsmanship yet also bears clear marks of Chaos. During his wanderings of the world, Mannfred journeyed east and met the Chaos Dwarfs of Zhar-Naggrund. Somehow, he convinced them to forge him a sword worthy of his stature, and he has carried it with him ever since. Sensing his poor chances at the climax of Hel Fenn, he hid the sword in that swamp to reclaim when he returned to life.[4a]
Gheistvor[]
Gheistvor was claimed by Mannfred von Carstein following Vlad's demise in the First Vampire War. Mannfred acquired it from the dungeons of Castle Drachenfels.[5a]
