Father of Einarr and friend of Spjall, Sigdan of the Baersonlings was a hunter. His head had been crushed between the powerful jaws of a sabretusk when his son was but twelve years of age, watching as the beast took Sigdan's corpse and scrambled up a tall tree where neither he nor his tribesmen could follow. Einarr would avenge his father by hunting the sabretusk down on his own with only a spear and a dagger, as a rite of manhood.[1a]
Trivia[]
- It was Sigdan who taught Einarr that the most dangerous lies are those the liar does not bother to hide.[1b]
