The Shifting Mangrove Coastline, also called the Shifting Mangrove Coast, is supposedly nothing but an immense, extended mangrove swamp for miles on end, resting on a sargasso of roots and decay located on the eastern coast of the Southlands.[1a]
Sailors of Sartosa explored portions of it, for the coast is as far as most got and its shallow waters. The mangroves is less inhospitable than the steaming jungles of the interior, but they were still more dangerous than most were comfortable with. Poisonous snakes, hungry Lizardmen, stinging insects and savage tribes were but some of the dangers that lurked amongst the close-set greenery. Even the Elves did not come into the mangroves, if they could help it.[1a]
