The Shadow Champions of Be’lakor were a trio of near-immortal Chaos Champions.

"I’ve encountered this kind of magic before - never mind where - and I reckon that by binding himself to mortals in this manner, Be’lakor’s made himself vulnerable through those mortals. So whatever the Ubersreik Five need to do to put paid to his nasty little schemes, it’s bound to begin with them."

Originally a trio of zealous Templar Witch Hunters from the Order of the Silver Hammer, the men who would become the Shadow Champions were drawn to the frozen north by the booming voice of Sigmar, seeking to perform trials set by their god. Instead, they encountered the Daemon Prince Be’lakor, whose unholy spirit corrupted their souls…[1]

Now directly empowered by the First Damned, the Shadow Champions would become fierce enemies of the famed Ubersreik Five. Bound to Be'lakor’s dark majesty, they were virtually unkillable, resurrecting after each defeat.[1][3]

However, Be'lakor did not count on his Shadow Champions possibly opening up a vulnerability. Indeed, Franz Lohner soon theorised that by binding himself to mortals, he may have left such a weakness...[4]
