The Daemonic Seeker Chariots of Slaanesh appear on the battlefield.[1a]
Seeker Chariots of Slaanesh, also known as "Shrieking Shandredhans," "Glorious Doomriders" or "Pallid Vanguards," are fast-moving Daemon Engines of Slaanesh, the Chaos God of pleasure and pain. They take the form of Daemonic chariots whose wheels have been outfitted with wickedly curved, whirring blades pulled by two Steeds of Slaanesh and ridden in by two Daemonettes.[1a]
As the straining Steeds of Slaanesh urge the chariot to full speed, swirling shapes sear the air with unholy hues and the metal axles screech in a disharmony akin to the wailing of tormented souls. Indeed, to stand against such a Daemonic machine is not simply a contest of arms, but a struggle of wills that shakes the boundaries of sanity.[1a]
When the chariot finally crashes home, the Daemonettes aboard the horrifying contraption dance from yoke to spar, laughing as the disembowelling strikes of their claws weave bloody trails in the air through the massed ranks of the foe, be they Daemon or mortal.[1a]
Exalted Seeker Chariots of Slaanesh[]
The elite Lesser Daemons of the Dark Prince known as Heralds of Slaanesh often elect to ride into battle atop an "Exalted Chariot," an even more capable form of the Seeker Chariot of Slaanesh. From here, the Herald can reach down to whisk victims from the chariot's razored maw.[1a]
Yet this is not an act of kindness. Indeed, enemies claimed in this manner soon start screaming to be returned to the embrace of the merciless blades below, if it means they will remain not a moment longer in the grasp of the doting Herald of Slaanesh's cruel affections.[1a]
Game History[]
The Seeker Chariots of Slaanesh, originally named simply "Chariots of Slaanesh," were introduced in Warhammer: Storm of Chaos as a chariot unit for the Daemons of Chaos, but received no official model.[3a]
They later received rules in the 7th Edition Daemons of Chaos armybook, where they were renamed to Seeker Chariots of Slaanesh, and then an official model was created with the release of the 8th Edition Daemons of Chaos armybook.
