A scalemane reptilon of Lustria
A scalemane reptilion is a large, aggressive lizard native to the continent of Lustria identifiable by its spiked frill, which can flourish when the reptile is angered or aroused. They are arboreal while young, but become more terrestrial as they age.[1a]
Scalemanes are ambush predators which attack from behind, delivering a bite with potent venom that quickly wears down prey while the lizard tracks behind at its own pace, staying on the trail using their sensitive forked tongues. Exhausted prey who haven't died by the time the scalemane has reached them will be eaten alive.[1a]
