San Pedro del Sur is a port town located in the kingdom of Avila on the Golfo Naranja in south-western Estalia.[2a][3a]
History[]
In 2517 IC, pirates struck San Pedro del Sur once again. Leading the raid was the black-hearted murderer Captain Acosta aboard Sartosa's Son. Among the many prisoners taken was Fernando, the husband of Teresa Ruiz. Desperate to save him, the tearful woman offered all her savings as ransom, fearing the pirates intended to sacrifice their captives to their heretical god, El Bicho del Mar.[3b]
However, upon receiving the gold, Acosta refused -- such a meager offering would not appease the shark god. A far greater sacrifice was required to keep the storms and the beasts of the sea at bay.[3b]
During the attack, even the largest textile merchants' storerooms in San Pedro del Sur were looted and burned.[3b]
Game History[]
San Pedro del Sur was originally a fan-made settlement created by the freelance writer Alfred Nuñez Jr.. The town was mentioned for the first time in the computer game Man O' War: Corsair and confirmed in Warhammer canon with the release of Warhammer: The Old World.[1]
At the time of the release of Man O' War: Corsair only Bilbali and Magritta were considered canon kingdoms of Estalia. So San Pedro del Sur was shown as a town of the Kingdom of Magritta.[2a] The plot of the single-player campaign in Man O' War: Corsair is set in the year 2517 IC and all information about San Pedro del Sur thus comes from that era.[2b]
More information about San Pedro del Sur can be found on Alfred Nuñez Jr.'s website, but the canonicity of this additional lore has not yet been confirmed by Games Workshop.
