The Reikwald Elves are a small Wood Elf kinband who live in the Reikland. They were originally inhabitants of the High Elven settlement of Kor Vanaeth, which stood where Altdorf is today. Following the destruction of that settlement 4,000 years ago in the War of the Beard, the forebears of the Reikwald Elves escaped into what is now called the Reikwald Forest and did not return to Ulthuan.[1a]
Since the advent of the Empire of Man over 2,500 years ago, the Reikwald Elves have been very gradually integrating into Human society. Today, many members of the Reikwald Elves live in Altdorf, where they are known to frequent the Wall of Remembrance, the last physical remnant of Kor Vanaeth. A minority remain in the Reikwald and maintain the old ways. They consider those who have integrated into Imperial society to be traitors.[1a]
