"It is true, I am in the midst of danger every minute of the day on that island. It is only with the knowledge that I shield such delicate flowers as yourself, signorina, from the dangers of such fearful criminals that I can bear the strain."
- —Jacopo d'Arezzo, Captain of the Red Talons[1a]

The Red Talons are a Tilean mercenary company first hired as part of the garrison of Rijker's Isle by the Directorate of Marienburg, a fortress that serves as a prison.[1a]
Myrmidia the goddess of strategy, is especially popular with members of the company which has also a personal chaplain, Don Marco Bizzari. Because of their loyal service since their hiring, they have been allowed to construct a small temple in Tempelswijk dedicated to her called Temple of Myrmidia di Mari.[1a][Note 1]
Jacopo d'Arezzo is their commander and Captain of the guard on the Isle. He's the epitome of a dashing, heroic officer - immaculately groomed, tall, with romantic brown eyes, a ramrod-straight back, and the elegant movements of a panther. He is usually fashionably dressed, but not ostentatiously.[1a]
He's also a consummate professional and a man of action. While he may seem to be an incorrigible ladies' man, and obsessed with little else, he truly cares about his troops.[1a]
First and foremost are the well-being of his brigade and the honorable fulfillment of his contract. While this includes the security of the fortress, he will not sacrifice any members of the Red Talons unnecessarily. In his free moments, he is also devoted to bringing joy into the lives of as many of the lovely young ladies of Marienburg as possible.[1a]

Notes[]
- Note 1: The Temple of Myrmidia di Mari's name is probably a typo, as the correct Italian term is "dei" not "di", this would give a meaning to the name of the temple "Myrmidia of the Seas".
Trivia[]
The Red Talons and their integration of chaplains inside their company could be a reference to a chapter of Space Marines of Warhammer 40,000 also called Red Talons.
