"You think you made it this far without my consent?"

—Rasknitt[2]

Rasknitt, also known as the "White Rat," is a powerful and highly ambitious Grey Seer of the Skaven, and perhaps the most prolific enemy of the Ubersreik Five. He was the owner of the Stormfiend Deathrattler, as well as the Rat Ogre Gristlegore.

History[]

Assault on Ubersreik[]

Rasknitt is even more paranoid than most of his peers and constantly seeks to gain favour and standing with his fellow Skaven and the Horned Rat with his schemes. Of course, Rasknitt considers himself a genius, and fumes with anger that his brilliance has gone continually unrecognised by the world.[1] He had previously attempted a mad scheme to topple the Colleges of Magic -- which only failed due to the incompetence of his subordinates, as Rasknitt's plan itself was obviously foolproof.[3c]

Some time ago, Rasknitt initiated a plot to poison and mutate the gathered leadership of the Imperial town of Ubersreik at the annual Grand Masquerade. To this end, the Grey Seer hired several Clan Eshin agents who were to poison the food and drink at the festival with warpstone dust.[3a]

Rasknitt also amassed an army of Clanrats, Rat Ogres and Gutter Runners under his command to attack the weakened nobility of the town.[3b] His plan was thwarted by adventurers and the backlash was severe. Rasknitt had to relocate and start his scheme for world domination all over.[1]

Alliance with Clan Fester[]

But the Horned Rat must favour Rasknitt, because an opportunity of a lifetime fell into his paws when he made contact with the weakened Clan Fester. Rasknitt threw himself head over hind-paw into a game of trickery and deceit, and wound up as the commander of the clan's assault on Ubersreik.[1]

Fester was a weakened clan, ravaged by disease and out of favour with the mighty Clan Pestilens. Rasknitt convinced the Skaven Warlord of Clan Fester that only he could deliver a cure for the sickness ravaging the clan. The disease had been named the "Brood Blight," and it was crippling the clan by afflicting the clan's Breeders, reducing their fertility rates and the quality of their offspring.[1]

Rasknitt claimed that the first step in providing the cure for the Brood Blight was to conquer and enslave the man-thing nest of Ubersreik.[1]

Although the city's defences were overrun and most of the population slain, Rasknitt's plan was foiled by the adventurers called the "Ubersreik Five" under the guidance of Franz Lohner and the Grey Seer was presumed dead. However, the devious Skaven had survived and sent Rat Ogres to assault the Red Moon Inn. When the heroes braved the tunnels of the Under-Empire to finish Rasknitt, they were taken captive, allowing Rasknitt to conquer Ubersreik at last.[1]

After Ubersreik[]

Using the infernal machine known as the Skittergate, Rasknitt managed to bring the Nurglite forces of the Rotblood Tribe of Norsca to Helmgart.[2]

However, the warpstone magic powering the Skittergate proved fickle, and during the escape of the Ubersreik Five from the clutches of the Skaven, the portal malfunctioned again and construction had to resume, delaying a full-scale invasion of Reikland, much to the discontent of Rasknitt's new Chaos allies Bödvarr Ribspreader and Burblespue Halescourge.[2]

As the attack on Helmgart commenced with Chaos forces joining the Skaven, Rasknitt turned to repairing the Skittergate.[2]
