Pugno e Montecastello

Location of Pugno on the map of Tilea used in Man O' War: Corsair.[3]

Pugno is a small Tilean town,[3a] and the site of the Battle of Pugno. It is located between the Bay of Wrecks and the upper reaches of the River Luparno, at the foot of the southeast end of the Apuccini Mountains and north of the Monte Castello fortress.[1a]

The town is under the influence of the fortress of Monte Castello.[3a]

Battle of Pugno[]

During the Tilean Dark Age in ca. 475 IC, a Greenskin horde slowly gathered to sweep into Tilea from the Border Princes. The desperate Tileans, with no standing armies to speak of, swiftly gathered as many mercenaries as they can from across the Old World, including many Ogre bands. At the fabled Battle of Pugno, the mercenaries routed the Greenskin horde, changing Tilea's demographic makeup, and its future military doctrine, forever.[2a]

Game History[]

It was not known who had actually fought in the Battle of Pugno until the publication of the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition: Archives of the Empire - Vol II sourcebook.[1a][2a]

Trivia[]

Pugno means "fist" in Italian.
