Pfeildorf is an Imperial town and the former capital of the Grand Barony of Solland when it was still an Electoral Province before it was integrated into Wissenland following the Turmoil of 2512 IC. It is the centre of the Sudenland wool trade.[1a]
History[]
Wolf in The Fold[]
"I understood her gaze then, as I had not before. A killer looked at a killer. Like knew like. In an instant, she rolled and before I could say anything, least of all that I intended no violence to one so magnificent, she was gone."
- —The Tilean Wasp about the Werewolf of Pfeildorf[3a]
During the 24th century IC, the people of Pfeildorf were the victims of a series of cattle thefts. it didn't take long before the blame was placed on wolves and to get rid of it Hugo, a greasy man who was the count of Pfeildorf's castellan and gamekeeper, hired a wolf trapper who was travelling through the city.[3a]
What the castellan could not know is that the hired man was actually a Tilean assassin, Hadrian Samoracci, known as the "Tilean Wasp," who had come to the city to assassinate the count. In any case, in order to get closer to his victim, the killer staged a wolf hunt and it was then that he met the cattle thief, not a wolf but a female werewolf. Fascinated by her mastery of the arts of death when she slew her pursuers, the killer decided to protect her, but nothing could save her from the witch hunters under the command of Arch Lector Kaslain.[3a]
Swearing revenge, the Tilean assassin plotted a meticulous vendetta. He infiltrated Sigmar's temple in Nuln and after immobilizing the arch lector he disposed of the man with his stiletto.[3a]
Samoracci eventually returned to Pfeildorf in the guise of Kaslain to conclude his revenge against the count.[3a]
Total War: Warhammer[]
In the Mortal Empires campaign of Total War: Warhammer II, Pfeildorf becomes the base of operations for the Golden Order faction. Led by Balthasar Gelt, they are tasked with reinforcing Fort Soll and Winter's Teeth Pass against invasion by the Greenskins from the Badlands.[2]
Canon Conflict[]
In the short story "Wolf in The Fold" by Ben Chessell, Kaslain was killed by The Tilean Wasp, this creates a conflict with the events narrated in The End Times where the arch lector was still alive.
