Oswain Lothar was a border prince of the Borderlands with the title of "baron," and liege lord of House Aquilena in ca. 2276 IC.[1a] Upon his death his title was inherited by his youngest child Karolina Lothar.
In battle he rode on the back of Safanad, a Bretonnian Warhorse, though the majestic beast was slain by the Undead forces of the Tomb Kings, melted by a black acid attack.[1a]

- Basina of Magritta - Lady Basina of Magritta was the mother of Karolina Lothar. She was of Estalian origin, and the second wife of Baron Oswain Lothar. She died when her daughter was only six years old. A wild boar startled her horse while she was out hunting with her husband. Her mount reared and she fell from the saddle. She landed badly and broke her neck.[1b]
- Claudette of Quenelles - Lady Claudette of Quenelles was Baron Oswain Lothar's first wife and the mother of Henri Lothar. She died long before Karolina Lothar was born to the baron's second wife Basina of Magritta.[1b]
- Karolina Lothar - Karolina Lothar was a Blacksteel Knight and the daughter of Baron Oswain Lothar. In battle she rode the noble steed Vralka.[1a]
- Henri Lothar - Henri Lothar is the oldest son of Baron Oswain Lothar.[1a]

Canon Conflict[]
The novel Lords of the Lance by Graham McNeill holds that Baron Oswain Lothar was Karolina Lothar's father while the interactive map at www.theoldworld.com says she was the daughter of Baron Cyricus Carrard.[1a][2a]
