"The Paymaster is just as important as an Ogre company's leader, holding the purse strings and dishing out the loot when the job's done."
- —Description of Ogre Paymaster in Total War: Warhammer III.[2]

Ogre Paymasters of the Maneaters as rendered for Total War: Warhammer III.[1]
An Ogre Paymaster serves as a paymaster for the Ogre mercenaries called Maneaters.[1][2]
In the culture of the mercenary Ogres known as Maneaters, where treasure and rewards are highly valued, the role of the Paymaster is vital to their society. Joining his comrades in battle, the Paymaster drives them forward with the promise of great riches.[1][2]
Known for being greedy and tightfisted, he's a true penny-pincher. His survival instincts are sharp -- he makes sure that only those who survive until the end of the battle get paid. He's also demanding and persuasive, constantly yelling at his fellow Ogres to fight harder for the money. Motivated by personal gain, he is happy to see others fall, as it means a bigger share of the reward for himself.[1][2]
Role[]
Next to an Ogre mercenary army's cauldron, its paychest is probably amongst the most sacred of its possessions. It is usually entrusted to an Ogre most voluble, though not exactly valuable in terms of fighting skill. Being what they are, in the thick of combat Ogres may at times forget that gold awaits the ones who have distinguished themselves -- which is why the Paymaster occupies a prominent place in their ranks and persists in extolling the virtues of the paychest with a single-mindedness that verges on mindlessness, both in and out of battle.
