Naggor was a Black Ark dating back to the Sundering that served as the home to the self-styled Witch Lord Balneth Bale. In spite of its advanced age, it is not counted among the six black cities, being instead trapped in ridged ice in the north of Naggaroth. [2a]

His inhabitants are known as Naggorites and are regarded as rural compared to the inhabitants of the Black Cities.[1a]

The sigil of Naggor is a mountain peak.[1a]

History[]

In the time before the Sundering, Naggor was a great centre of arcane research. When the Witch King arrived in the New World, he commanded the Sorcerers of Naggor to relocate his personal Black Ark unto the mainland to create a new seat of power. The Sorcerers obeyed and later relocated their own Ark in a similar manner.[2a] Balneth Bale, the ruler of Naggor, was an ambitious druchii who had apparently learned dark arts from his sister Eldire. Acting on these rumors, Malekith sent the army of Hag Graef to subdue Naggor, making the Black Arc into a vassal of the Black Crag. [1a]  Bale rebelled after Lurhan Fellblade had been slain by his son Malus Darkblade. The dark elf had fled to Naggor, but there, he had been fallen prey to the glamour of his sister Nagaira. Malus was placed into command of the household knights, under the command of Fuerlan Bale, the son of Balneth.[2c] The army suffered a defeat at the gates of Hag Graef and Fuerlan was slain. [2d]

Naggor itself is consisting of a large piece of obsidian rock honeycombed with tunnels. Only the wealthiest Highborn are allowed to live in the ancient towers that date back to Nagarythe, the lowborn live in the caves created deep within the rock since then.[2a] The upper citadel contains lost magical treasures from before the Sundering, preserving remnants of ancient Nagarythe that have become lost and forgotten elsewhere.[2b]
