The Mirror of Nightmares is an enchanted object that acts as a portal to the Realm of Chaos. It is unknown whether it is literally a mirror, or something else that has just been given a fanciful name.
In one version of conflicting lore, Marius Hollseher, the Elector Count of Stirland, passes through the Mirror of Nightmares while crusading Araby around 1460 IC, and then writes the Liber Malefic about his experience.[1]
In Warhammer Fantasy RPG 2nd Edition, Marius Hollseher is said to be a fever-stuck hallucinating scribe, no mention is made of him being the Elector of Stirland, or of the Mirror of Nightmares.
