  • I've seen you added back the End Times section to Morglum Necksnapper. Where can I consult this source myself?

  • Hello there.

I noticed you edited out "Older ret-conned lore" from the Amazons page.

As someone who has been devising a threat on the legitamacy of the faction and their potential inclusion into Warhammer 2 (trying to collect up all their sources and figure out what is and isn't cannon) I was wondering what it is that made those parts ret-conned?

The reason I ask is because, if you're referring to the White Dwarf articles and Town Cryer sources that speculate the Amazons are of Norscan decent, I'd like to point out that they also disprove this theory within the same sources.

    • Its cool, no problem. Its just such an obscure topic that is in cannon limbo so I'm never sure who's right and who's wring in these instances XP

It's really difficult lol. The general rule is that, unless a piece of lore has been challenged or changed in later editions, then it's considered canon, even if it's from the 80's :) It just happens that the majority of it has been changed since then, so it takes some research to determine if any lore from older editions should be added to the main sections of a page. :/

  • Hey, you mind if I ask you for help with the Florin d'Artaud article? You seem more knowledgeable about him and Lorenzo, and I tend to underdevelop articles about the main characters in novels. ^_^;

  • Aresius King has created "banner-templates" for each faction, including a blurb about the faction and a link to their category. These banner templates would go on any article related to that faction. You can see the dwarf one in use on Kadrin Redmane, and the rest of the banners on his userpage.

    What's your opinion on these?

    Thanks,

    • Hi there.

I think it's a good idea. They give a little bit of info, that might make someone who is casually visting a page want to learn more. They don't look too obstructive either. :)

  • Hi Hyberius, I saw you rollbacked changes made into Gotrek and Felix individual pages. I understand the reasons but, wouldn't it be more consistent with other characters if both had their own page? As it is, search by full name does not autocomplete in the search box (at first I thought they did not exist at all until I saw other characters referenced the "Gotrek and Felix" page when talking about any of those) and for information about a particular character you have to look in an article about something broader, which is the sagas. Maybe, for it to work, some information should be removed from the "Gotrek and Felix" page to minimize redundancy, but I do think it is the correct aproach. If that is not the case, then I am really sorry for the inconveniences. I am pretty new at this wiki stuff and its standards.

    • Hi there Zogar.

Generally when there are character duos, they are kept to one page. Like the Sisters of Twilight, Galeron and Joinville, Odo and Suliman, Tristan and Jules etc.

The Gotrek and Felix page itself is pretty old, and hadn't been worked on for quite some time. I've done a bit of a clean up and corrected some spelling errors and structural issues, but I'm not particularly knowledgeable on the pair (I've not read their books in quite a while). I'm actually kind of surprised that the page hasnt been worked on, seeing as they are some of the more popular characters in WH.

If you want to work on the page and do some further corrections, feel free :D Just remember to add and cite sources, so that people know it isn't fanfiction or so they can check to see if certain events are true. :d

    • Sure! So far I my edits where more driven towards organizing than correcting, so I havent really added new content yet, just moving stuff from here to there and adding links, but I will be getting my hands dirty soon enough :)

  • Hey Hyberius, thank you for your previous answer to my question, I unfortunately have another one. So I have been doing research on Countess Emmanuelle von Templehof who is a cousin to Konrad von Carstein and she shows up in both the Vampire Count's 8th Edition and the other in Sigmar's blood. The first is page 21 in 8th Edition and the Sigmar's Blood book on Pg. 32. In the Sigmar book she is under a section called the Whispering Nell as she appears to have been turned into a spirita after her vampire form was killed. Thus I was wondering if I should create a new page for Countess Emmanuelle von Templehof  or Rename the Whispiring Nell page Whispiring Nell (Countess Emmanuelle) and then add her relation to Konrad von Carstein's page.

    • It's probably best to keep the name Whispering Nell, seeing as that's the name the character currently goes under. Vlad von Carstein used to be caled Vashanesh, but his article is called Vlad von Carstein because that's the name he is currently known by.

I havent read Sigmar's Blood in a while, but if there's any lore about her previous life or other info that isn't already on the page, feel free to add to it :D

  • Dear Hyberius, I have been reading over Sigmar's Blood and I came across in page 22 that Volkmar the Grim had performed a Grand Exorcism on Fort Oberstyre and I was wondering if I should write about this exorcism in the wiki page of Fort Oberstyre since Sigmar's Blood isn't part of the Vampire Count 8th Edition. I'm asking you since I read in your profile that the Vampire Counts was your favorite faction and wanted to know what you recomend I do.

    • Sigmar's Blood is is still considered canon in terms of lore as far as I know. :P

It should be ok to write about :)

    • Thank you, I'll probably update it by tomorrow, since I was surprised when I first read about it in the book and it wasn't mentioned in the wiki.

  • What other sources did you look up for his article? The old website only has one paragraph of fluff for him :/

    • It's from the battle reports page, I might have accessed it via another link though. The Wayback Machine won't let you access certain links if the date is wrong, which is pretty annoying.

  • Congratulations on your new Content Moderator tag. I would like to tell you two things:

    1) Would you like to write a short paragraph talking briefly about you and how did you know Warhammer Fantasy, so that we the other members of the wiki know you a little better? It is always good that we are not strangers working separately ^^

    2) Very likely next week we will start using Discord, where we will can have direct messaging to deal with issues related to the wiki, its organization and its articles. With Paraduo we already have a communication like that on Slack for some time, and it has been very useful and agile for us. It would be great if you could also enter to Discord when the time comes :)

    • No worries, I'll give it a shot lol :)

      1) I got into Warhammer Fantasy around late 2007, when a couple of kids at my school brought in their miniatures. The funny thing was that I never really played the tabletop game. The Lore and the Art was what I found most interesting about Warhammer.

I started reading the books, and got into the RPG game. The first being the Knights of Bretonnia series when "Knight Errant" was released back in in 2008. I got the book when I noticed that the character on the front page was the same guy from the Bretonnian Army Book,  I thought that was an interesting concept. After that I started reading any Bretonnia lore I could, and eventually did the same with the Vampire Counts.

      2) Sure thing :) I have Discord already, so I'll make a Hyberius account and join whenever you guys are ready.

    • Discord is now ready for you to enter. Probably tomorrow or the day after tomorrow will be the general implementation. So we can go to open the working group with Paraduo today, and you will know the channel to talk about Fantasy ;) When they enter, they will see that the server is called "Warhammer 40k Wiki". That's because the 40K colleagues were the ones who created it a month ago, but it has been approved as a home for everyone. It will probably change to a more general name as soon as Fantasy fans start to enter. From start you will only see the #chat channel. Speak there and you will be given access to all other channels, it is a way to filter users.
