Mattheus II Holswig Schliestein was an Emperor of the Empire. He was the grandfather of Karl Franz, making him the father of Luitpold I (and probable predecessor).

He was strongly in favor of the democratic system, and even tried to draft an official imperial constitution, giving official power to the Council of State. However, the Electors did not like this idea, and his plans were abandoned.
