Marius Loeb was a soldier serving as guardsman for the Imperial Embassy in Kislev. Big but out of shape, the man had great meaty hands could hit like anvils. According to Pavel Korovic, Loeb was a drunk, a thief, a bully, and "a lazy, good-for-nothing piece of horse dung". When he was told he'd be sent back to the Empire, he got into a fist fight with Ambassador Kaspar von Velten. Kaspar noted him as being a cancer on the garrison, infecting every man with the desire to do less than they were capable of, less than duty demanded.[1a]

The Ambassador sent him to the infirmary, before keeping true to his word.[1a]
