Louis di Burgundum is a mercenary captain and duke from the sunny land of Tilea. After the fighting of the Storm of Chaos had ended he offered protection to Daniel von Brentzingen, the ambassador of Middenheim, who became the paymaster of Burgundum's mercenary unit as the duke travelled into the southern regions of Middenland to see how its people had fared during the recent war.[1]
After several combats in the region, Burgundum's mercenaries were tired, as long days of fighting the forces of Chaos had taken their toll. The troops' only thoughts were to spend their hard-won coin on fine Tilean wines to drown out the memories of the unnatural nightmares they had witnessed.[1]
But their fight was not quite over. Their passing scent was picked up by a warband of Khornate Beastmen. As the army passed through a clearing on the outskirts of the Drakwald Forest, desperate shouts went up from the rearguard. The mercenaries were beset by foul creatures on all sides. Used to fighting for money, the Dogs of War now had to fight for their lives.[1]
After an intense battle, the mercenary force broke and abandoned its client to his destiny.[1]
