"Perhaps I should take you as a guardian in its place. Though I have many others, each formidable in their own ways."
"I pray I never cross them, my Lady..."
- —The Lady addresses Prince Louen after his victory over the Lake-Lion.[1]
Lake Lions are ancient, aquatic predators favoured by the Lady of the Lake as defenders of her various underwater domains. They are tapered masses of silver-skinned muscle. Gifted with suits of armour by the goddess, they possess giant maws that can swallow entire horses whole, lined with fierce steel-plated teeth.[1]
A Lake-Lion was famously slain by a young Louen Leoncoeur during his quest for the Holy Grail, a feat that was made even more miraculous by the fact that he used a dagger to kill it.[1]
