Kraken

The Kraken is a giant squid-like creature with hundreds of tentacles that end in cruel suckers and vicious barbs. It grabs its prey with these appendages and propels them into its evilly beaked mouth. There are many tales of Kraken emptying ships of crew and leaving them ravaged and drifting with no sails or masts left standing on their destroyed decks.^[1a]
