Khypris, also known as Khypria,[2a] is the capital of the small Khyprian empire in the Border Princes, which stretches from the Black Mountains along the Tana Dante river, and comprises three provinces: the Northern Lands, the Western Lands, and Central Territory. In addition to Khypris, the Prince also controls various settlements and towns such as Cabanal, Aldium, Alynda, the village of Vimera, and the large town of Mentreba. It is currently governed by Prince Harmis Detz.[1a]
The city of Khypris sits in the center of an unusually fertile patch of land in the Border princes. It is both a city and a citadel, with great gray walls stretching out over the slopes of a hill in the raggedy way. The city is populous, at least by the standards of the region. Its streets can be labyrinthine, and how much with a square where the executions were carried out, with its scaffolding and gallows. The city has sewers taking advantage of the natural caves that are under the city, and it is said that Goblins and ghouls inhabit them. Within the city is also the palace of the rulers, a citadel within a citadel.[1]
Khypris was built a long time ago, near one of the largest rivers in the region, known by its inhabitants as the Tana Dante. The Tana Dante forms the northern and western limits of the fertile region, while the eastern limit is found in the mountain ridges and the south by a very dry and stony desert, both of which are practically impassable for foreign armies.[1]
Because of this isolation, Khypris has generally been safeguarded from invasion, and the people of the city are among the most prosperous inhabitants of the Border Princes. The inevitable result of this prosperity, however, is that the Khypris rulers have always been keen to extend their control to less fertile lands across the river, annexing to the small nation two territories that the Khyprians call the northern lands. and those of the west.[1]
Both regions are made up of unbroken barren, desolate wastelands containing isolated valleys of various sizes, whose people can sometimes grow grain, but are generally limited to growing turnips, beets, and cabbages. Such valleys produce meager surpluses, and can hardly be considered worth the effort, but as the hunger of Khypris increases, so does the market value of the food grown in these distant havens. Khypris forests are typically made up of low-crowned thorny trees and bushy shrubs, although there may also be cedars and other tall-crowned trees. In them there are usually chickadees.[1]
Paper is a rare good in the Border Princes rarer than parchment, for want of factories where discarded linen might be collected and pulped; all the paper which made its way to Khypris had originated in Tilea.[1a]
History[]

The region of the Khyprian empire is now splitted in two macro areas between Scarosio and Mirasino and The Desolation of Draken Coast, due to Tamurkhan's invasion.[2a]
Government[]
Khypris' main military force is the Border Guard of the former Prince Faramond, which ancestors were said to be descended from Tilean soldiers of fortune.[1a]
These men are charged with keeping the peace and defending the nation's unstable borders, although a common joke among them is that no one can say exactly where the border was. However, the men guarding her are known to be scattered along a line of more than three hundred kilometers, in very small groups. Their job is to hunt down small bands of raiders, and send an urgent warning to the Border Prince and his commanders of any Zani, a tribe of chaos marauders, forays from the hills.[1a]
Although they must protect the small kingdom and its inhabitants, for the villagers and farmers beyond the city of Khypris, the burgundy and gold colors of the livrery of the Prince are often seen as symbols of oppression.[1]
The Khypris gunsmiths are tasked with supplying the soldiers with weapons, armor, and horses , on the condition that the Khypris army would not claim their equipment unless they died.[1]
With the death of Faramond, Harmis Detz took his place as the Prince of Khypris.[1a]

Shrine of Sigmar[]
A shrine dedicated to Sigmar, God of the Empire. Its Cult's influence on the Border Princes is not even comparable with the one in the Empire.[3a]
Khyprian Road[]
Bisecting the Border Princes, the Khyprian Road is famous for its relative safety. Its entire six-hundred mile length is cleared on both sides for many miles, ensuring would-be bandits have few places to hide.[3a]
Subsidiary Settlements[]
- Alynda - A settlement on the west side of the Tana Dante.[1a]
- Cabanal - A town built over the Tana Dante.[4]
- Mentreda - Mentreda is a great town surrounded by fields garzed by herds.[4]
- Vimera - A village some miles to the north of Aldium and west of Malko.[1a] The village is short of competent cooks as it was of willing girls, in fact there is no brothel to confort the few visitors.[1b]
Notable Inhabitants[]
- Konrad von Siert - Son of Duke Ottokar von Siert, Konrad is Baron of Siert and Castellan of Ostergrootsch. He lived in Khypris until 2511 IC, year of the cessation of his exile from the Reikland. In the Border Princes he received a tuition from Colonel Sievers, seen as too focussed on southern matters as epitomised by Holy Myrmidia, according to his father.[3a]
