Mortuary Cult of Khemri Nagash

Khenteka with Nebamun and Ankhmare.

Khenteka was the High Liche Priest and Hierophant of Khemri. He was the eldest and most powerful of all the Mortuary Cult, save only for the exiled Grand Hierophant Khatep. Even when Khatep was banished, Khenteka never assumed the full title, known instead as the Keeper of the Tombs and Waker of the Dead.

During the End Times, Khenteka was tasked by Settra the Imperishable to wake all dynasties of the Tomb Kings in all of Nehekhara for the tasks ahead.[1a]

He and his fellows Nebamun and Ankhmare of the Mortuary Cult were accompanied by two high priests and twelve priests from the fourteen Temples of the Old Gods in Khemri.[1b] During the final siege of Khemri, Khenteka was tasked with preparing a ritual to destroy the soul of Nagash and his Mortarchs, should they be captured.[1c] When Arkhan the Black and Krell lead their armies against the city, Khenteka and his Liche Priests called forth a rain of skulls form the blackened sky.[1d] Yet Khenteka met his end when his subordinate Ankhmare betrayed the Mortuary Cult during the sealing of Arkhan after the latter had met death at the blade of Settra, his spirit drained to empower the Liches rebirth.[1d]
