The Battle of Skull Pass

Karak Grom, meaning "enduring and brave," or "defiant" in Khazalid,[2a] is a Dwarf hold located near the Skull Pass, a valley to the south of the Worlds Edge Mountains.[1a]

Karak Grom's banner is green and silver.[2b]

History[]

Karak Grom stores the King's Wall, an iron chain that once surrounded King Lunn's throne, and beyond which none could pass without his invitation. Each of the king's warriors vowed to die before letting one enemy step within it. It was gifted by the king to Thane Godri Thunderbrand.[1a]

When the ambitious Goblin Dagskar Earscrapper of the Crooked Moon Tribe set his sights on taking Skull Pass, a valley rich in gold to the south of the Worlds Edge Mountains, the conflict between Goblin and Dwarf was re-ignited. The stoic Dwarfs, led by Godri Thunderbrand of Karak Grom, took their weapons and began their march to fend off the Greenskin invaders and successfully fought to save the fledgling settlement of Karak Grom.[1a]

After Dagskar's failed attempt to conquer the area, the Goblin Warlord Skarsnik decided to punish him and to send new chieftains against the Dwarfs.[1b]

Notable Inhabitants[]

  • Borri Graniteskin - As a Dragon Slayer, Borri has sworn to hunt down and fight the most powerful monsters he can find, seeking an honourable death in battle. His journeys took him to Karak Grom.[3a]
