Karag Orrud is an active volcano also known as Red Cloud Mountain.[1a]

Red Cloud Mountain is the southernmost of the three great volcanoes of the World's Edge Mountains, along with Thunder Mountain and Fire Mountain. Earthquakes and tremors have hindered the Dwarfs from setting up mountain holds in the region. Enterprising Dwarf miners sometimes arrive in attempts to seek and extract the treasures of the earth revealed through volcanic activity, but few of these attempts last long, with most mines ending up being buried in ash or lava.[1a]

The volcano is nonetheless inhabited by the Goblins of the Red Cloud Tribe. In -700 IC, the Red Cloud Goblins unearthed tunnels that connected Red Cloud Mountain with Fire Mountain and launched an assault through them into Karak Azul.[2a]

Charnel Valley

The Charnel Valley, the location of Karag Orrud on the Mortal Empires campaign map in Total War: Warhammer II, which also serves as the capital of the Skaven's Clan Mors rather than the canonical City of Pillars.

On the Mortal Empires campaign map of Total War: Warhammer II, Karag Orrud is located in the Charnel Valley instead of the position it has on official maps, likely to save space.[3a]

Furthermore, as Karag Orrud serves as the starting point for the Skaven Legendary Lord Queek Headtaker, the Clan Mors headquarters landmark has been placed here. [3a]

In canonical lore, the headquarters of Clan Mors is actually Karak Eight Peaks, also known as the City of Pillars by the Skaven, which is not held by Clan Mors in the Mortal Empires campaign due to Clan Mors' campaign mechanics requiring the clan to conquer Karak Eight Peaks as one of its primary campaign goals.[3a]
