The Kaiserknecht was a Knightly Order of the Empire that served in ca. 1111 IC as the personal guard to Emperor Boris I Hohenbach, commonly known as "Boris Goldgather." The knights were not drawn from noble families as in most knightly orders, and they were actually mercenaries. Boris understood only one way to ensure loyalty -- gold. Members of the order were not just natives of the Empire, as some were Bretonnians or at least they seemed to be based on their accents.[1a]
The Kaiserknecht wore golden tabards which displayed their heraldry, a warhammer surrounded by laurel.[1a]
Trivia[]
