The famed Imperial General Hans von Löwenhacke[1]
Hans von Löwenhacke was an Imperial general of Talabecland who also served as a mercenary general selling his services to the various contenders for the Imperial throne late in the Anarchy.[1]
Hans has honed his craft on countless battlefields across the Old World against all manner of foes, making him amongst the Empire's foremost commanders. Von Löwenhacke has also fought alongside and earned the respect of mercenary companies across the Old World, any of whom would answer his call to battle in a time of need.[1]
History[]
During the later years of the Anarchy, the fractured states of the Empire of Man were mustering their armies to defend themselves from the Norscans and Warriors of Chaos invading from the north, hordes of Orcs and Goblins rampaging from the east, and -- more often than the people of the Empire would like -- themselves, as the constant political strife for control of the vacant Imperial throne forced the Empire's city-states and provinces into battle with each other.[1]
Senior figures in the Imperial military have found themselves fighting under many different banners over the years, and General Hans von Löwenhacke, in particular, fought for almost every major power in the nation, bringing his pragmatic strategies to bear from Middenland to Osterlund.[1]

General Hans von Löwenhacke was one of the foremost military commanders of the Empire in the last years of the Age of Three Emperors. Note that since he has taken up service with the city-state of Nuln he has incorporated the lion of Nuln into his plate armour and personal heraldry.[1]
Born to an officer in the state army of Talabecland, Hans von Löwenhacke was always destined to serve the Empire, and was granted a junior commission once he had demonstrated that he was every bit as capable at commanding troops as veteran officers -- and often better.[1]
Hans defeated the Goblins of the Red Eye Tribe by leading his warriors right through the ranks of Goblins to take the head of their warboss, and sending its followers scattering. Later in his career, when fighting for Middenland, his last-minute decision to create a rearguard for an advancing army blunted a Beastmen ambush and gave the other commanders time to react.[1]
In 2276 IC, Hans was seconded to the armies of the great city-state of Nuln as part of an agreement between it and Talabecland in the face of the Reikland's latest aggressions, adopting the lion of Nuln into his full plate armour and heraldry alongside his custom-forged Griffon Helm, a magical artefact that has protected him from many killing blows over the years.[1]
Wargear[]
- Full Plate Armour - von Löwenhacke always wears a suit of full plate armour for protection in the field, but since his secondment from Talabecland's state army to the service of Nuln, he has incorporated that city-state's lion heraldry into his armour, his personal heraldry and his magical Griffon Helm.[1]
- Griffon Helm - The Griffon Helm is a custom-made great helm that has been infused with magic, making it capable of protecting its wearer even from blows that would otherwise have been considered mortal.[1]
