"The earth will be made to tremble, the mountains will kneel, the rivers will bleed with the blood of men, and the sky will fall. Your souls are sweet wine to the Shadowlord. He is the harbinger, the herald of conquerors, of the Anointed! Spill your veins for he who is godless!"
- —Golkhan, champion of Be'lakor.[1b]
Golkhan, also called "Golkhan the Anointed," was a Chaos Champion sworn to the service of the Daemon Prince Be'lakor and Chaos Undivided rather than the service of any single Chaos God. He occupied the ruins of the city of Mordheim and his plot to resurrect his master in physical form was defeated by the famed adventurers Gotrek and Felix.[1a]
History[]
Golkhan was born an Imperial man named Götz von Kuber, the lord of the village of Sigmarhafen which stood watch over the ruins of Mordheim since Magnus the Pious had destroyed it following its corruption.[1c] While his ancestors held true to their pledge, Götz became disillusioned with the state of the mortal world and was seduced by Be'lakor's promise of a clean end to the world.[1d]
Renaming himself Golkhan, Götz was one of the servants of the Dark Master in the temporal shards of Mordheim and the leader of his Chaos host in the ruins of that city. When the Dwarf Slayer and his Human companion, Gotrek and Felix, entered the cursed city, the Chaos Champion led an assault on a pocket of resistance against his rule which was commanded by Sigmar-fearing mutants. Golkhan assaulted the place where the mutants had unwittingly brought the bones of Kharduun the Gloried, an Everchosen of Chaos the Dark Master had tried to possess when he lived. The Dark Master desired these bones to serve as a magical conduit to Golkhan which he might use to possess his favoured champion. The Dark Master sent his servant to retrieve them.[1r]
Golkhan faced Felix Jaeger with one hand behind his back, seeking a greater challenge, and defeated him effortlessly.[1b] However, Golkhan's force was afterwards decimated by a furious Gotrek Gurnisson. Golkhan retreated back to the ruins of the city's Temple of Sigmar, where his master was imprisoned. A ritual was enacted, in which parts of Kharduun's skeleton were affixed to Golkhan's armour, in an attempt to transform the Chaos Champion into a physical avatar of Be'lakor, freeing him at last of Tzeentch's incorporeal curse.[1c] Gholkhan was defeated by Gotrek and afterwards slain by Caul Schlanger, an agent of the Golden Brotherhood, with a throwing knife.[1r]
Wargear[]
Golkhan was armed with an onyx claymore and clad in black plate armour. He wore a daemonic mask over his hell-steel helm that hid his true features.[1a] Be'lakor further gifted his servant with a six-legged Daemon steed.[1b]
