An unnamed God of Death is represented in the pantheon of the Old Faith who rules the watery otherworld where the spirits of all living beings are said to pass after death. Little is known of this deity, and it has no formal name or official title, being thought unknowable as death always is by all those who have not yet passed on.[1a][2a]

Before the formation of the Empire of Man, as Tilean traders spread word of their Classical Gods, they, in turn, were influenced by the pre-Imperial Human tribes, and returned to their homelands with new myths and legends, some of which were incorporated into their existing traditions.[3a]

Thus, many of the earliest surviving Tilean texts have tales including the northern names for the gods, rather than the original Tilean names. For, although Morr was a name that originated in the south, the northern names for the God of Death have been lost to time.[3a]
