The Gift of Arms is a reward given to his Chaos Chosen by Khorne, granting them the possession of mighty magical weapons and armour or the use of a Daemon Weapon that is inhabited by a Daemon of the Blood God in certain cases.[1a]
As a god of warfare and violent death, the first gifts a devotee of Khorne may receive are arms and armour with which they may do their master's bidding. These can range from protection in the form of the unearthly plate armour known as Chaos Armour, or the Collars of Khorne like those worn by his Flesh Hounds, to potent weapons of arcane and mystic origins. These cursed weapons have powers of many kinds.[1a]
The most common Khornate gifts of arms are defiled creations of Chaos, which forever mar and taint those that wield them. The most favoured among the Khornate devout may bear a weapon containing the essence of a Daemon of the Blood God. Such items are scarce and highly prized amongst his Champions because of the devastation they can wreak. These mortals ignore the reality that each time they place their hand upon the hilt of such a daemonic weapon they lock wills with a capricious enemy with the evil intelligence of ages, which may not appreciate its imprisonment.[1a]
As part of Khorne's gift these, or any form of weapon, may be bound and fused with the flesh of the Champion so that where their hand or arm once was, their body merely flows straight into the blade of the weapon. Many recipients of this gift enjoy such disfigurement for it declares to all their dedication to the warrior path of the Blood God.[1a]
Finally, there are such arms the Blood Lord may grant that are beyond all mortal comprehension; arcane and mysterious weapons of great power that may fire as a crossbow balls of fire or solid beams of light that char and vaporise whatever they strike.[1a]
