Frydaal the Chainmaker, Exalted Champion of Chaos Undivided
Frydaal, also called Frydaal the Chainmaker, is a Norscan Exalted Champion of Chaos Undivided who commanded multiple raids launched by the Norscans and allied Warriors of Chaos upon Westerland in the early 2270s IC during the final years of the Anarchy.[1]
She and her forces met a combined army of mercenaries and Westerland state troops commanded by the Pretender Empress Elspeth Magritta VI, the Baroness of Westerland, at a major battle near the ruined town of Hollum in the northern Wasteland in the early spring of ca. 2276 IC.[1]
History[]

Frydaal the Chainmaker leads her Warriors of Chaos in raids on the Westerland.
Following the lure of Chaos that calls to all Norscans, Frydaal travelled north where she battled other Champions of Chaos in the Chaos Wastes before returning to Norsca infused with dark powers, having essentially become an Exalted Champion of Chaos Undivided, serving no particular god but the interests of Chaos as a whole.[1]

A map of the routes taken by the forces of Chaos under the command of Frydaal the Chainmaker and the mixed mercenary/Imperial state army of Pretender Empress Elspeth Magritta VI of the Westerland when they met in the early spring of ca. 2276 IC.
Frydaal was an inspirational raider to the other forces of Chaos who amassed a great fleet of Norscan wolfships and raided the coasts of the realms of civilised Men along the Sea of Claws, pillaging and spreading the corruption of Chaos wherever she went.[1]
In the early 2270s IC Frydaal raided the Imperial town of Hollum on the northern coast of what was then Westerland. Over the course of several years she created her own fiefdom north of the commercial city-state of Marienburg in the ruins of Hollum and the neighbouring town of Aarnau and as her raids continued to expand from this base across the northern Westerland, the power and corruption of Chaos continued to grow and spread across the land. As the corruption worsened, warherds of Beastmen were drawn to it and settled into the nearby forests, further increasing the danger to Marienburg and the Empire. Frydaal had a dark monument honoring the Ruinous Powers built in the heart of Hollum which soon began to draw a flood of Dark Magic to the region.[1]
Over the winter of ca. 2276 IC, the Pretender Empress Elspeth Magritta VI, Baroness of the Westerland, mustered an army of mercenaries to deal with the imminent danger. In the knowledge that the Norscans' wolfships would arrive ready for another raiding season as soon as the Sea of Claws thawed, she marched north in the spring to the ruins of Hollum with the sellswords and the Westerland's regular army.[1]
Yet Frydaal had learned of the Pretender Empress' offensive and had braved the end of winter to arrive early to her base at Hollum with her force of Chaos Marauders and Chaos Warriors. Now the forces of Chaos stood waiting to face the Imperials when they arrived. Just before the battle commenced, Frydaal bowed before the monument she had raised to the Dark Gods in Hollum, asking them to watch as she demolished the Imperial army in their glorious name.[1]
The stage was set for the first proper battle between the two forces at Hollum, which would prove to be one of the largest engagements between the forces of the Empire and the Warriors of Chaos before the start of the Great War Against Chaos some twenty-five years later.[1]
Appearance[]
Frydaal has been "blessed" by the Dark Gods she serves with several mutations, including massive size, powerful musculature far in excess of that achievable by any mortal woman and a great pair of Daemonic horns that rise up from her temples.[1]
