The Forest of Gloom is located south of the Black Mountains in the Border Princes.[2a]
The Forest of Gloom is a forest located in the Border Princes near Black Fire Pass and Karaz-a-Karak, bordering the Black Mountains and Worlds Edge Mountains. The South Road, Old Dwarf Road, and Skull River run through it. The Forest of Gloom is one of the forests that collectively make up the thousand-mile-long belt of forest sometimes called the Black Deeps.[1][2a]
The outskirts of the forest are home to the spider-riding Creeping Death Forest Goblin tribe, as well as Beastmen. The Forest of Gloom lies just north of another forest inhabited by the Black Spider Forest Goblins.[1][3]
Shadow-Groves of Loec[]
The umbrous depths of the Forest of Gloom are well-suited to the worship of Loec, the Elven god of dancing and shadows, by the Wood Elves. He is the particular patron of the Asrai Wardancers.[1a]
