Fithvael is an old and veteran High Elves warrior who travels the territories of the Old World with his partner and friend Gilead Lothain, in search of more members of his own race, a self-imposed mission that leads them to face numerous dangers on the continent and whose end it is still not entirely clear.[1]
Before embarking on this journey of uncertain fate, Fithvael had been the faithful servant and fencing master of House Lothain at the Tower of Tor Anrok, and had educated Gilead and his twin brother Galeth in the art of the sword. Life in the tower was uneventful until Galeth was kidnapped by a gang known as The Scavengers and killed during his rescue. The death of his twin was a serious blow to Gilead, since both brothers were united by a very strong bond, and for the next ten years he dedicated himself to destroying the band of the Scavengers and their elusive leader, along with a group of faithful followers, among whom was Fithvael himself.[1]
Gilead succeeded in achieving its goal, but at a high price. Gilead's revenge had taken its toll and Fithvael was the only one of his men to survive the venture, and during his years of absence, the Elves of Tor Anrok were leaving the place until only the two of them were left as the only Elves left. they remained. The worst thing is that despite having completed his revenge, this did not manage to heal the wound that Gilead had in his soul, so for a long time he lived mired in melancholy and drowning his sorrows in wine, until Fithvael managed to get him out of his stupor and since then they travel the world together.[1]
Despite his advanced age, Fithvael remains a highly skilled fighter, a combat veteran from years of fighting numerous enemies as a Silver Helm. He handles his sword with great skill and few are able to face him. He is capable of dodging and feinting with enormous grace despite his age, landing blows where the enemy least expects it. He is also an expert tracker and explorer, moving through the lush forests of the Old World as if he were a shadow, without making the slightest noise to betray him, catching his prey by surprise, nor leaving the slightest trace that would allow him to be followed.[1]
These abilities have saved Gilead's life many times like his have saved his, but above all, the old Elf is a strong moral support for Gilead, whose soul continues to be wounded by Galeth's death. Fithvael and Gilead can never be as closely linked as the twins had been, but the fencing master had dedicated his life to Gilead and his quest after Galeth's death, and their relationship has grown very intimate.[1]
On the battlefield, Gilead and Fithvael fight as one, with the perfect coordination of practice, and have little need for words or signals during combat. They can communicate any amount of information with a brief glance or a nod of the head. They have a single goal and represent a single force. Their relationship had long since ceased to be that of a lord and his servant, that of a man and a boy, or even that of companions. They were one as much as two separate and different beings like them could be.[1]
