"Seven souls tonight, devoted! Seven souls nearer to the hour of awakening, The hour when all your dreams will be fulfilled. And tomorrow night, the last great hurdle to victory shall be cleared. The master’s most trusted acolytes will steal the Viol of Fieromonte from its hiding place, and the fall of Praag will be assured! All hail the master and the coming of the queen!"
- —A cultist of Slaanesh
Fieromonte was a famous Tilean luthier in the time before the Great War Against Chaos.[1a]
Viol of Fieromonte[]
The book, The Memoirs of Kappelmeister Barshai, tells that Fieromonte had made a deal with a Daemon of Slaanesh to create the sweetest-sounding, most beautiful violin in the Known World.[1a]
According to the book, he was satisfied with what he created following the deal, though the resulting instrument had a Daemon of the Prince of Chaos bound within it. People would break down in tears to hear it play. It's said a woman killed herself when it was played at her husband's funeral, another tale tells of an entire company of Winged Lancers dancing themselves to death at a ball as the viol played.[1a]
Destruction[]
"Where are the fools that promised us the souls of an entire city?"
- —The Daemon of Slaanesh inside the Viol of Fieromonte[1e]
The Vampires Ulrika Magdova Straghov and Stefan von Kohln allied and fought a band of Chaos Cultists that were attempting to steal the Viol of Fieromonte in the city of Praag.[1b]
The pair confronted them in the Sorcerers' Spire, killing several and taking the violin, but were soon met by a pair of huge, mutated Champions of Slaanesh, one of which proclaimed herself as Jodis the Unsated, handmaiden to Sirena Amberhair. In the ensuing fight, the Vampires lost the violin to their opponents.[1c]
The later destruction of the Viol of Fieromonte at the Opera House by Ulrika's hands changed the mood of the citizens of Praag. Perhaps the awakened violin had somehow sparked a madness for music in the city, and now that it was gone, and the Daemon contained within it returned to the Realm of Chaos, its melodic mania had died with it.[1d]
