"'pon my soul, I could a mighty tale unfold, and upon the shoulders of our hero bestow times of trial, transformation and woe."

Kaufmann, The Saga of Faramond (Chorus)[2a]

Faramond was the former prince of the small empire of Khypris in the Border Princes. He ruled before the ascent of Prince Harmis Detz.[1a]

History[]

Faramond's ancestors were said to have descended from Tilean soldiers of fortune and this reflect in the way he managed his domain.[1a]

During his reign, Faramond established the Border Guard, a military force tasked with protecting his small nation's borders and maintaining internal stability. The Border Guard was notable for its scattered deployment, with small groups of soldiers patrolling vast areas to counter raiders, Chaos Marauders such as the Zani, and other threats.[1a]

Faramond's governance was pragmatic but strict. While his policies ensured relative safety within the Khyprian empire, they were often seen as oppressive by the rural populace, who viewed the burgundy and gold livery of Faramond's forces as symbols of tyrannical rule.[1a]

Despite his efforts to protect Khypris and its territories, Faramond's reign came to an end with his death. His successor, Harmis Detz, assumed control of the principality following Faramond's passing.[1a][1b]
