Etobrutti is a poor hamlet under the influence of the Principality of Miragliano, and once protected by the Principality of Pavona in Tilea. It was the site of the battle of Etobrutti, where the forces of Pavona defeated those of Verezzo.[1a]
History[]
At the battle of Etobrutti saw the army of Pavona commanded by the mercenary general Borso, Prince of Pavona, and at the time, husband of Lucrezzia Belladonna, fighting against the army of Verezzo. After a first defeat, the wounds of Borso were mistakenly treated with poisonous herbs, which resulted in his death. So the mercenary captain, Donato took over the command of the troops in his place. He managed to defeat Verezzo's army, saving this way the city and subsequently married Lucrezzia.[1a]
Trivia[]
There is no actual location of Etobrutti on any map of Tilea, but it can be guessed that it lies between Pavona and Verezzo.
The name of this location in Warhammer Fantasy Tilea, is likely a reference to "et tu Brute?", the purported last words of Ancient Roman dictator and general, Gaius Julius Caesar, who was assassinated in 44 BCE. The words first appeared in English plays about Caesar in the 1500s CE, and there is no evidence that Caesar actually said them.
