Dreadfleet is a limited edition board game by Games Workshop, which shares its name with the novel Dreadfleet by Phil Kelly.[1][2][3]

This collaborative board game accommodates a minimum of two players and a maximum of 10 players. It was released on October 1, 2011, and unfolds within the Warhammer setting. One player assumes control of the Grand Alliance of Sartosan pirate lords, while the other oversees the Dreadfleet, made up of Undead Zombie Pirate captains mirroring the events of the novel.[1][2][3]

Game History[]

The narrative of the novel unfolds in 2522 IC, technically during the End Times, though the tumultuous Chaos invasion of the Old World by Archaon the Everchosen remains unaddressed within the narrative of the game's fiction.[1][2][3]

The Total War: Warhammer II Curse of the Vampire Coast DLC has referenced some of the characters of the story, but Creative Assembly has taken some liberties in how they are portrayed within the PC game. Games Workshop has also forbidden Creative Assembly from using more than two of the main characters from the game, though the reason for this choice was never explained. The two characters chosen were Aranessa Saltspite of the Grand Alliance and Count Noctilus of the Dreadfleet, both who became playable Legendary Lords leading their own factions on the campaing map.[1][2][3]
